This summer I’ve visited the monome country… the United States, with my wife and my fellow 256 :/
We flew from Barcelona to San Francisco to begin the trip in the east coast.
The first days we stayed in a friend’s sweet house in Silicon Valley.
We made some visits to San Francisco but the last day we meet Edison in a little jazz club on Haigh Street. My 256 couldn’t come because he was in bed due to jet lag effects on his buttons…
From San Francisco we rented our car and we went towards the east through Yosemiti National Park where all three had a little hike.
Then we went to an ancient place of the monomes… the monolake, where long time ago they used to fish and sing mlr and boing songs near the fire…
After the monolake we went to visit some canyons, the red was little, the Bryce was beautiful, and the Grand was BIG… my 256 wanted to get a plane to fly over it but it was too expensive and he doesn’t have a job… we got some nice pictures there toghether.
We also visited the Monument Valley near there, an amazing place, not a big area but beautiful enough. An then we went directly to Santa Fe where we had our big US debut, 256 was really nervous, I was more shure of myself. There, we met Frank (watson), Kara and his little monomes and cats. Our monomes had a good time toghether… we too. They gave us a really beatiful place to stay and we had a really nice time with them.
We had our debut on june the 29th in a place called Cowgirl, 256 was great… , he made an amazing interpretation of our compositions.
256 wanted to visit Washington to see where his president lives…
I had a great time in Delaware watching the horse shoe crabs, I’m really amazed by this animals, 256 was a little scared and he remained on his bag.
I use a horse shoe crab as my logo and I’ve used some pictures I took from one of them in my first Lp cover.
and from there to the New York not much monome stuff, I expected to get a gig in Brooklyn but nothing came up at the end.
